Design day (or a little displacement activity)

Design day. A little sketching in the morning and some serious displacement activity in the afternoon. It was suddenly essential that I did some power walking along the river in order to have Fantastic Ideas. Eight miles later and all I had in my head was a million practical issues. Next it was utterly essential that my power walk should be followed by a long bath with a glass of wine in our lovely new bathroom. The ideas would just flow!

Calling, calling, calling…

Today I chucked out a load more ‘help me please’ emails and made many many more calls, and I got more and more disheartened. I read some blogs by designers preparing for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, all of which sound so exciting! A trip to Italy to source the perfect tree. Except the blog post was dated February. And there was no way I was going to Italy…

An RHS Show Garden

So I’ve been approached by the RHS to submit a design for a show garden for the BBC Gardeners’ World Live in June…

I’ve always wanted to do a show garden. It brings together perfectly my two careers from my past two decades; theatre design and landscape design. My initial plan was to gain some experience by assisting another show garden designer, and so yesterday I emailed the RHS to find out who might need some help at the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park this summer. Maybe next year I could attempt a small garden of my own…

MOO MiniCards
